R&D

  • Growth, morphology, electrical, magnetic, and optical properties of Thin-Films
  • Process monitoring of the stages of production of photovoltaic cells (CIGS).
  • Development of standalone instrumentation for testing/measuring the optical properties of finished products.

Automation

  • Control of a wide range of Optical Monitors for deposition of multilayer structures: both broad and narrow band approaches in reflection and transmission.  Integration of third-party optical analysis software.
  • Full process automation (control of the components of vacuum systems) and monitoring of growth via crystal monitors and optical monitors.
  • Design, construction, and implementation of specialized test fixturing including robotic, electronic, and optical components.

Programming

  • Over 25 year’s experience using Object-Oriented languages
  • Use of Design Patterns, Refactoring, and Unit Testing
  • Large scale projects (~1000 classes) that fully automate multilayer deposition systems
  • Integration of third-party math/statistical packages and graphical presentation
